After reading a passage, chapter, or large section of scripture work your way

through these questions to help you meditate and better understand what you just

read!

 

1. Who did I read about?

a. Is this passage about a person or people?

b. Are they in other parts of the Bible?

c. How did they react to God?

d. What happened to them?

 

2. What did I read about?

a. Is there principle in this passage?

b. Is there a question being answered?

c. Is there a prophecy being proclaimed or fulfilled?

 

3. When did this happen?

a. When in the timeline of the Bible did this happen?

b. Before or after the Law as given to Israel?

c. Before or after Jesus’ earthly ministry?

d. Before or after the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit?

e. Before or after the Second Coming of Christ?

 

4. Where did this happen?

a. Is there a town, city, nation or region mentioned in this passage?

b. Can you find it on a map in the back of your Bible?

 

5. Why?

a. Why did the Lord say what He said? Was it in response to something

or someone?

b. Why did the person or people do what they did?

 

6. How?

a. How does this passage affect me?

b. How does this passage give me instruction?

c. How does this passage give me correction?

d. How does this passage give me wisdom?

e. How does this passage give me clarity?
